From
the Commodore -- Feb/Mar 2008
Hello to all from your Commodore and board!
The PCKC Winter Party has come and gone and I believe a good time was
had by all! We had a good turnout, with about 50 people attending. It
was a new location for us, which I think worked well, but I’m interested
in any feedback you might have.
Speaking for the board and group, some thanks are in order! First,
to Larry and Judy Carpenter -- a big thank you for providing us with
some of your music. We greatly enjoyed it and we so appreciate
your willingness to come sing for us!
We’d also like to thank Pike’s Bay Marina for providing
a beverage of choice to the group (which turned out to be two and then
three beverages of choice!) You really went above and beyond, and
it was appreciated by all!
Also, thanks to Treasurer Jim Beran, for putting together the slide
show for the party. Since we can’t be on our boats this time
of year, it was nice to at least see pictures of them!
Finally, we’d like to thank all of you who attended. It
was great to meet new people and to catch up with everyone mid season.
We appreciate your taking the time and effort to get there -- and I know
some of you came from quite a distance -- so thanks for attending!
We continue to plan for activities for next season. For now, we have
two lunches scheduled during launch week. PCKC will provide lunch
for boaters on Saturday, May 10 and Saturday, May 17. This
lunch is free to PCKC members, with a suggested $5.00 donation for non-members. If
you’re there those weekends, please be sure to join us.
As there isn’t a lot of other news this time of year, your next
info letter will be coming out in April, 2008. Be sure to check
the website then for more news. Until then, we’re on the
downhill slide now, so hang in there ’til spring!
Respectfully,
Chris Rine
your Commodore
